When a Dervish dies, in Konya the fellow members perform a ceremony of "night of union " or "Shab-i-Arus" in Farsi. The ceremony represents the union of the soul with the lover. Accordingly Dervishes perform Sema in front of the monumental fountain located in the courtyard of the Mevlana's convent.
